I love this ride all the time but it is especially fun when you have people riding it for the first time and a lively boat of friendly happy people. This was that boat. I got a great shot of the wall of water hitting them from behind although, it seems lately that the water is not as dousing or drenching as it used to be. We used to walk off dripping. Not sure if it is about the drought or something they changed on the ride. Still huge fun!

A Great Pirate Version of Hallelujah and Yo Ho Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for Me
So much singing pirate fun at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort on Mother's Day. Such a great pirate version of Hallelujah and then some Disney greats including the Yo Ho song from Pirates of the Caribbean. They had the kids do the pirate pledge, handed out booty in the form of coins, gems and skeletons, sang with us and everyone had a blast on Mother's Day. This is a makeshift tent they have up because of renovations and they had one heck of a buffet out there. Disney even does construction well.
All kinds of new Easter egg designs this year at the Grand Floridian. It was really quite amazing. They are all made of edible materials like chocolate, fondant, frosting, candy, and sugar. The smell of chocolate was awesome. I was thrilled with the centerpiece of the floor. An American Bald Eagle draped in the American Flag and sitting on top of red ,white and blue chocolate curl shavings. The eagle looked so real you expected it to fly away and the flag looked like it was real cloth. Hard to believe anyone could be talented enough to produce art work like this. It felt good to see the American flag as a part of this celebration as well as the Easter greetings on the signs. I love all of the eggs, but my favorite was the 4 seasons egg I have put in the picture section of this text. The detail and colors were stunning. Really hard to choose favorites at this display. If you have not seen this, you must go there and do so. Not to be missed. Running through the 19th of April 2017. Enjoy the gallery of pics below.
An amazing day of Star Wars at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios. Everything was up close and personal. We marched with the First Order as in right behind them all the way up and down Hollywood Blvd. We stood where the characters come in and out of the stage show and wow did they play to the camera! You can see some of my great shots below as well as video of it. Some time at the Launch Bay with some meet and greets with Chewie and Kylo as well as looking at Star Wars Art and Star Wars fireworks ended a perfect Star Wars day there.
Got to see Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World tonight 3rd row. The amazing thing was that the line wrapped around the front of the park and we were told by a cast member that where we were in line, we would not get in. He said we had no chance of getting in. I had a feeling and an instinct that he was wrong so we stayed and figured if it didn't work, we still had some time to do more things afterwards, but wanted to wait it out to see. As it turned out, we had perfect seats and had no problem getting in. It always pays to make sure and try anyway here at Disney. The show was very cool! This is a full video of the show but taken on tablet. It is a bit shaky to start with but later on becomes very good and very close. also Some of the best pics of the night for you. Enjoy!
At first We Did Not Think they Were Real People At Epcot's New Art Festival...And Then They Moved!!1/18/2017
They called this human art. Yes these guys were real people and people were trying to get them to respond like they try in the UK with the royal guards. Chris of course did it. I hope he did not offend the person because I think this was a guy but Chris thought it was a girl. You can see in the video how he hears me say to Chris that I wasn't sure it was a girl and his facial expression says it all! It was funny at one point, bc one girl didn't know they were real and she came up to take a pic with one and put her hand out to pretend she was shaking the hand of the statue and he grabbed her hand to shake it. LOL She went running away laughing. We laughed too! These guys were fun!!
Last night we got lucky enough to be right up by the rope at the bottom of the ramp coming down from Cinderella Castle. We were actually just there to do a happy birthday video to both Walt and our friend and awesome cast member Cinda but then decided to stay there to watch wishes when we realized we could. We have never seen Wishes from that close before. We have seen it from many places in the park and outside the park, but this was amazing! The only downside was I only had a small amount of memory left on my disk so I only got bits of video. I did however get some quite amazing still shots of the colors of the castle and the fireworks. They are off the charts cool! I have included a slide show of those below and then also the video I did get which although short, is breath taking!! Enjoy the slideshow and videos below!!!
Enjoy 34 pics in this slideshow of the Christmas crystal lit and regular lit castle in brilliant colors. You can advance, start, stop and pause as you need to.
Our Daughter Took Some Awesome Shots Again Tonight too...
So my camera hit the ground at Epcot and I was heartbroken and crushed. Our daughter came to the rescue temporarily while I problem solved getting a new camera. These pics are not perfect and not taken with the best camera, but they are awesome because it is our 14 year old daughter's first foray into taking Disney pics with her tablet. I am so proud! I am such an avid photog and vidog when it comes to Disney and her instincts on cool pictures were spot on. Some of them came out just gorgeous. This is from the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary from a few nights ago with all of their floral and Christmas grandeur. Give her some kudos if you like the pics. I gave her a big hug and told her I was just in awe of her photo instincts! Some are funny and some are silly and some are just family so bear with me on those. I didn't want to just upload the pretty ones.
NOTE: If viewing on mobile device, you will see the big pic at the top and then small thumbnails. It is a slideshow so the pic will change and when you touch the bigger one, there should be arrows left and right to be able to advance or go back. The thumbnails are also clickable and will change the bigger pic and the top. They won't come in as a bigger pic on their own though. Keeping it vertical or the tall way, will allow you to see the pics easier but know that if you touch the top bigger pic you can use the arrows to advance or go back or play and pause the show. Some of them are ok horizontally too but the tall pics get cut off if you do that. Enjoy!!
Enjoy 172 pics in this slideshow of Polynesian Village, Grand Floridian and Contemporary Christmas and floral splendor! You can advance, start, stop and pause when you need to.
I had 10 internal memory shots available to me so I also snapped a few shots. For someone like me who adores taking pics and vid, it was tough to choose what to take!
So cute and yummy looking!! We have seen these the last few years at Disney's Beach Club and they are always so much fun!! All edible materials. Gingerbread cookies, chocolate, gumdrops, fondant, frosting. Just OMG so yummy looking!! This year they are Disney Character themed which we have not seen before. They have the big 4... Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy plus Pluto on the side. I love all of it, but my favorite part this year is Minnie Mouse's seat and shoes. They are gumdrop material. I could chew on those for while!! LOL The pics are cute but don't do it justice. You need to see it yourself if you can. I have included a lot of pics from all angles because there are different nuances from different angles and with different lighting. Enjoy!!
Enjoy 40 pic slideshow. You can advance, start, stop, pause when you need to.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Melted Our Faces on the Last Night of 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival11/15/2016 omg they brought the house down!!
We got the amazing pleasure of seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on the last night of the 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival at Eat to the Beat in the American Pavilion. We saw all 3 sets, and got lucky enough to get 3rd row for the last 2 sets. The first set was from a little farther away but that is always great too because you get the full perspective of the stage and the pillars and the scenery around the pavilion. Plus awesome full sound!
I have always loved this band and am such a swing girl and always have been but I have to say that being so close and being right next to them just made it so exciting!! They literally never let you breathe during the whole concert. Normally the kids are not thrilled with seeing what they call our "old timey bands". LOL With this band, they could not stop dancing in their seats. Such talent and so much fun! I have included a number of my videos here from near and from far. We were literally close enough to see the spit while they played their instruments. I made one of the cast members laugh bc I thought that was so cool!! The only downside was I didn't get to hear my favorite song they do and I feel spoiled saying it because they played everything so well. I love the song "Christmas is Starting Now" from Disney's show Phineas and Ferb and was so hoping to hear it live. I have included a video below at the end of the page with that song from You Tube. Not my post, but I have to include it. Also one of us swingin to the song under the wonderful Osbourne Lights at Hollywood Studios. Hoping to see these guys again here next year. Enjoy!! No song reminds me more of osbourne lights at hollywood studios then this one!! LOve love love it!! this one is not mine but had to include it here. It is them performing the song at Disneyland...Us groovin to big bad voodoo daddy "Christmas is starting now" at osbourne Lights. No song will remind us of this event like this one!! Our WEbsite has changed and the one one the video below is not correct. Enjoy the video but know that we are now and forever more lovinwdwandfla.com |
