awesome storm skyskape near Disney world

This is not Disney directly, but for anyone who is a pluviophile like me (lover of rain), you know that Central Florida around the Disney area can and does produce some of the most awesome storm skyskapes ever. These pics happened today and unfortunately were taken just a short time after the most intense skies and me without my camera. I always make jokes that the best things happen when I leave it at home! We were at Publix coming out and the sky was just unbelievable and heart stopping dark and gorgeous! It is scary to see, but also a bit exciting don't you think? The funny thing is that as a person who 20 years ago was shell shocked and almost PTSD style incapacitated by storms after being in a couple severe microbursts that ripped the roof off over my head and threw it across a parking lot (a story for another time), moving to Florida, where it storms just about everyday, was quite the healthy stride for me in facing my fears. Actually the fear went away long ago when our kids came along and I needed to keep it together for them and we always made storms into a party. A party that focused on safety, but still a fun party with food and fun tv and hunkering down to ride the storm out together. Of course, down here, I am the girl running to grab my camera and getting in the middle of it, and not so much running to hide anymore (after being sure my fam is safe of course). For better or for worse, that's me now. Don't get me wrong, I love the sun too and am also an avid heliophile (lover of sun), but I am always amazed by a place like this that can be equally beautiful rain or shine. Dark skies and rain can be and is so much a happy memory of Disney so while I know these are not taken at Disney, I thought people who love Disney could share in my love of these kind of photos. Hope you enjoy!!
