An Amazing Act of Kindness at The Grand Floridian Gasparilla island Grill At Walt Disney World
We were thrilled to be going to eat at the Gasparilla Grill at the Grand Floridian this evening. Looking forward to the Grand Gaspy Burger piled high with pulled pork, a carnivore's dream! We were a little tight on budget this say, so we decided to share. We got inside and stood in line for a few minutes and a man walked up to us and says, "let me buy all of you dinner tonight". So of course, in modern times, your first instinct is to be a little cautious when someone does this, although being at Disney does temper that just a little. So he went on to explain that he had a bunch of meals left on his dining plan and he was leaving so he wanted to have someone else use them. We were floored by this act of kindness. So we tried to just order 1 thing because we didn't want to be gluttonous or too much of a burden since there were 5 of us. We figured we'd buy the rest ourselves. He wouldn't have it. He wanted us to each have a meal on him. By the time he was done, he had given us each a meal, plus an extra meal and Lord knows how many desserts. He also got dinner and dessert for a couple on their honeymoon too. How very nice on a night we thought we'd all have to share! We thanked him endlessly! We were so flabbergasted by it all, we forgot to have anyone take a pic with us and him. So we marveled at the kindness, enjoyed the meal by the water and decided that the kindness baton had been passed to us tonight, and we would do something for someone else. The kids decided to pay it forward with a few ducks right then. We did something special for others a little later, which will be another post on this site soon. I am always amazed and so thankful for all the happiness and kindness here that people want to give to each other! Since this place is so breathtakingly beautiful, I have also included some pictures of it for you.
